My name is Axel Ahrens and I am an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Denmark within the Hearing Systems Section at the Department of Health Technology.

My research interest is on speech perception, communication behavior, spatial hearing, and virtual acoustics. I completed my PhD titled 'Characterizing auditory and audio-visual perception in virtual environments' in 2019 supervised by Torsten Dau and Marton Marschall. My MSc degree was in Acoustical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and my BSc on Technical Audiology from the Technical University of Applied Sciences, Lübeck, Germany.
